Victim’s identity revealed from Saturday shooting

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department have identified a 27-year-old male involved in a shooting on the outskirts of downtown over the weekend.

Tyquarious Gause succumbed to injuries from multiple gunshot wounds. He was found Saturday, Feb. 11, 12:10 p.m., after officers responded to a call from a citizen who reported a body on 800 block of South 14th Street.

The call coincided with an alert from a ShotSpotter activation.

According to a release from the WPD, detectives engaged with multiple people where the shooting occurred for information regarding this crime.

The investigation continues and WPD is asking the public to report tips via the anonymous Tip 411 app or by calling (910) 343-3609.
