Wilmington Police investigating two overnight shootings one mile apart, no connection stated

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department is investigating two shootings that took place Wednesday night and another in the early morning hours of Thursday — there is no word as to any connection between the two events.

The first shooting took place near Huston Moore.

Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, Wilmington police responded to the Houston Moore area in reference to a shooting. Chadrick Tywain Hall Conyers, 28, was transported to NHRMC with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. This case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact WPD at (910)-343-3609,” a press release states.

Later that night (technically Thursday morning), about a mile away, another male victim was transported to the hospital with injuries — the severity of his injuries is not yet known.

Just before 12:30 a.m. Thursday, February 27, Wilmington police responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of Glenn Street. A male victim was transported to NHRMC. As of 1:20 a.m., it is unknown if his injuries are life-threatening. This case is still under investigation and there is no further information at this time,” according to the release.
