Body of missing Wilmington man found Saturday

Police say his death appears to be accidental.

WILMINGTON — The search for a missing Wilmington man is over.

The body of Julius Cole Rassin, 22, was found on Saturday, Feb. 24.

According to a Facebook post made by family spokesperson Lori Covington Sorensen, Rassin was found by medical personnel and local authorities. It is believed he died from an accidental drowning.

Rassin had been missing since Feb. 16 and was last seen near 123 Grace St. around 9 p.m.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, Rassin’s body was found at the foot of the Isabel Holmes bridge.

“Julius Cole was truly an amazing man and had so much unconditional love without limits to share with everyone,” said Sorensen in a Facebook post. “His love of music was truly one of his greatest tributes to the world. We will all miss him and our love for him will be forever from everyone that knew him.”

A celebration of Rassin’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
