An additional meeting has been scheduled for this Thursday on Wilmington’s proposed transportation bond, which city voters will decide at the polls in November.
The meeting will be held at the Northeast Regional Library at 7 p.m., according to a notice. The city has been holding a series of meetings in different locations in Wilmington to educate residents about projects the bond would fund.

Projects to be highlighted at Thursday’s meeting include a median with traffic signals and U-turn areas along Eastwood Road between Cardinal Drive and Military Cutoff Road. Those improvements are intended to increase safety and improve traffic flow.
Another project in the area would include a southbound right-turn lane on Racine Drive, designed to reduce backups and provide safer access for pedestrians and bicyclists.
Citizens are encouraged to attend Thursday’s meeting, which will be held in the library’s executive center. The library is located at 1241 Military Cutoff Road.
The city is proposing a $44 million bond that, leveraged with existing funds, would help pay for $55 million in projects ranging from road improvements to walking trails. If approved, the bond would require a 2 cent property tax increase effective July 1, 2015.
More information on the projects the bond would fund is available on the city’s website, which features an interactive map and videos on projects.
