Work related to the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority’s Masonboro Sound project will close a portion of Masonboro Sound Road on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to a notice.

CFPUA logoThe closure, rescheduled from last week, will occur between Magnolia Drive and Grainger Point Road, east of its intersection with Masonboro Loop Road. Crews will be installing an 8-inch sewer line and a manhole across Masonboro Sound Road to serve area properties.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes, and signs have been posted to alert motorists.

The work is part of the CFPUA’s Masonboro Sound Sewer Project, which has required closures on Masonboro Sound Road before. The $2.5-million project is providing water service to homes along Seabreeze Boulevard and sewer to that area as well as the neighborhoods of Whiskey Creek, Windchase and Oyster Bay—all located off Masonboro Sound Road, across the Whiskey Creek inlet from Trails End Park.
