The City of Wilmington’s neighborhood outreach series continues, this time in the Chestnut Heights-Princess Place area.
At 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria of Snipes Academy (2150 Chestnut St.), residents may tell city planners what they like or dislike about their area and what they’d like to see change or remain the same as the city and its neighborhoods continue to grow in population.
That input is helping the city develop a comprehensive plan to manage the various growing pains and transitions that could come about over the next few decades.
“Participants [Thursday at Snipes] will receive information about the area’s demographic and socioeconomic standings, including pending changes that will impact their neighborhoods,” said the city’s notice. “For example, more than half the population in the Chestnut Heights-Princess Place area is currently 30-45 years old, but the 65-plus population will grow by 67 percent in just the next four years.”
Thursday’s meeting is one in a series of 12 that began last year. On March 20, it will head to the Audubon-Devon Park area.
