Brunswick’s early college principal to lead South Brunswick High School

Vicky Snyder

BOLIVIA—Members of the Brunswick County Board of Education on Tuesday appointed a new principal to lead South Brunswick High School near Southport.

Vicky Snyder, who has served as principal of Brunswick County Early High School since its inception seven years ago, has been named principal of South Brunswick High School, according to Brunswick County Schools Spokeswoman Jessica Swencki.

“Dr. Snyder is a proven and outstanding instructional leader who has earned the affection of her students, the loyalty of the staff, and the admiration of the parents and community,” Brunswick County Schools Superintendent Edward Pruden said.

Snyder will begin her new post Monday, July 29.

“I am honored to join the South Brunswick High School family. Outstanding students, staff, parents, and community support are the foundation of the school’s long-standing history of outstanding achievements in academics, athletics and the arts. I look forward to the new school year and am excited to be a Cougar,” Snyder said.

Synder replaces Wayne Price, who was principal at South for three years. Price was transferred to Leland Middle School, where he will serve as assistant principal, Swencki said.

Brunswick County Early High School’s assistant principal, Cheryl Skaggs, will serve as interim principal while the position is advertised and a full-time principal is selected.
