Officers with the Wilmington Police Department arrested a Wilmington man for breaking into two homes Thursday, Jan. 10.
According to Wilmington Police Department Spokesman Cpl. Kevin Smith, officers were called to the 1600 block of Dock Street for a breaking and entering in progress at 5:38 p.m.
Police arrested Renginald Lewis Gibson, 43, for breaking into the home on Dock Street after officers saw him run out the front door. When Gibson was searched, police found a small amount of marijuana him, Smith said.
A block away, in the 1500 block of Ann Street, police were called for another breaking and entering. Smith said Gibson had property from the Ann Street home in his possession.
Gibson was charged with two counts of breaking and entering, one count of larceny, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. He was taken to the New Hanover County Detention Center, where he was placed under a $5,000 bond.
