WILMINGTON—Police are investigating a shooting reported Wednesday night.
Wilmington Police Department Spokesman Cpl. Kevin Smith said a man was shot at the Willow Pond Apartment Complex at about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday.
Smith said the victim, a 28-year-old man, had been shot “a couple of times” in the chest, but was conscious and alert when investigators arrived.
The man was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.
