Officers investigating Friday morning shooting

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department is currently investigating a shooting in the 200 block of S. 13. and Ann streets. 

The department noted in a release officers were two blocks away from the location upon hearing gunshots. They responded to the scene to find one female juvenile and male adult victim had sustained injuries during the shooting.

WPD noted in a release law enforcement conducted life-saving measures and applied a tourniquet before EMS transported the victims to Novant Health NHRMC. The injuries are non-life-threatening, according to the police.
