WILMINGTON — The fourth annual Dreamville Festival, product of Fayetteville-born rapper J. Cole, announced its lineup for the Raleigh event on Thursday.
This year’s festival takes place on April 6 and 7. Headliners include Cole himself, along with Nikki Minaj, SZA and Chris Brown.
Brown and SZA will close out the festival’s first night, while Cole and Minaj will each close out their sets the second night. Night one will also feature performances from Lil Yachty, ScHoolboy Q, Sexyy Red, Jeremih, Teezo Touchdown, Amaarae, Luh Tyler, and Domani. Night two will host Rema, Jeezy, Monica, Rae Sremmurd, Key Glock, Muni Long, TiaCorine, and Chase Shakur.
J. Cole cofounded Dreamville in 2007 alongside the current president of the label, Ibrahim Hamad. Since, it has been internationally recognized and generated several platinum records. Many of the artisits performing at Dreamville are on the label with Cole.
Proceeds from the festival go to Raleigh’s Dorathea Dix Park Conservancy and Cole’s Dreamville Foundation, which was created to “bridge the gap between the world of opportunity and the urban youth” in Fayetteville. The foundation began in 2011 and allowed Cole to purchase his childhood home in 2014 for $120,000. The home had been repossessed from his mother when Cole was in college; his plan is to turn the house into a homestead for single mothers and their children to live rent-free.
The Dreamville Festival launched in 2018, though was postponed one year due to Hurricane Florence. The following year, it sold out with a capacity of 40,000 people and has sold out every year since.
Tickets, starting at $350, are on sale now at Dreamville’s website.
