Wilmington man arrested for trafficking meth

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has arrested one man, Christian Cortes, for trafficking methamphetamine on Tuesday.

According to the NHCSO, a patrol unit conducted a traffic stop for a fictitious license plate on a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-40 yesterday around 9 pm. Cortes was found driving without a license. Sheriff’s office K-9 deputies searched the vehicle and located approximately 1,000 grams of methamphetamine. 

After being charged, Cortes is now in the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $500,000 secured bond.
