TOPSAIL ISLAND — Multiple flotillas take place in the region every holiday season, from Southport to Carolina Beach to Topsail Island — the latter of which is planned for Saturday, Dec. 13.
The annual Greater Topsail Area Christmas Flotilla features boats decorated with thousands of lights and holiday displays. The boats cruise along the Intracoastal Waterway, departing from Bush Marina in Topsail Beach at 5 p.m. and arrive at Soundside Park around 6 p.m. Judges will be choosing winners from Soundside Park, with the top three securing $1,000 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third.
The public is welcome to view the flotilla for free and there also will be a holiday market from noon to 6 p.m. ahead of the flotilla. There will be music and food trucks parked onsite, with artisans and crafters selling one-of-a-kind wares and unique gifts. Plus, there will be visits from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
Soundside Park is located at 517 Roland Ave. and registration for the flotilla and vendor market is open here.
