WILMINGTON — The city’s fire department is continuing its tradition of giving back to families by hosting its annual Holiday Food Drive to benefit NourishNC.
Donations of nonperishable items are accepted through Dec. 11, to be delivered to the nonprofit on Dec. 12. NourishNC focuses on providing food to children and families through various outreach initiatives, such as its Market on Market and Backpack Program.

- Grains: Cereal, granola or oatmeal, Clif, Kind, or Kashi bars, rice, pasta
- Proteins: Hearty soups, pasta with meat, peanut or almond butter, chicken or tuna, chili with beans, black/pinto beans
