The (1-1)Carolina Panthers are celebrating their first victory of the season following a 37-25 win over the (0-2) New Orleans Saints yesterday in the home opner at B of A Stadium.
Cam Newton competed 14 of 20 passes for 253yds, which included a 17yd TD to Jonathan Stewart. Stewart took the field for the first time Sunday after spraining his ankle late in the preseason. Newton also scored on a 5yd TD run in the 4th quarter and finished with 71yds on 13carries.
RB’s DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart combined for more than 100yds on the ground and Steve Smith had 104yds receiving on juist 3 catches.
