Bryant guilty of first-degree murder

Craig Bryant

BOLIVIA—Craig Bryant has been convicted of the first-degree murder of Adam Bradshaw.

Jurors deliberated for about two days before returning a guilty verdict of all counts—first degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and armed robbery—Monday in Brunswick County Superior Court.

Superior Court Judge Thomas Lock sentenced Bryant to life in prison without the possibility of parole  for the April 2008 murder of Bradshaw, a 34-year-old husband, father and Realtor from Shallotte.

District Attorney Jon David and Assistant District Attorney Lee Bollinger contend Bryant lured Bradshaw to an abandoned home near Ocean Isle Beach, where he shot Bradshaw to death and left his body in nearby woods on April 26, 2008.

Lora Moultrie, Bryant’s alleged co-conspirator turned state’s witness, testified against Bryant. Originally charged with first-degree murder, Moultrie pleaded guilty to second-degree murder last year in exchange for her testimony.

Moultrie was sentenced to 120 months to 153 months in the North Carolina Department of Corrections for second-degree murder and conspiracy. The robbery charged was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
