WILMINGTON — Although serious weather conditions resulting from Hurricane Florence are not expected until later this week, many major grocery and hardware stores are closing today.
Lowe’s Home Improvement is closing at 10 a.m. today. The Target on New Centre Drive is closing at noon or earlier.
Walmart is planning on closing by 1 p.m., but some stores may close earlier at the discretion of store managers, according to a corporate representative. Lowes Food stores in the Wilmington area are also planning to close by 1 p.m.
Harris Teeter and Food Lion will be closing Wilmington-area stores, but an exact time has not been announced yet for either chain, according to store managers.
