SCOTTS HILL – Just across the Pender County line from Wilmington, The Sailfish restaurant is reopening next week, after closing in November for seasonal upgrades.
According to Charlotte Kornegay, spokeswoman for The Sailfish at Marsh Creek Marina will keep its live music and view of the Intracoastal Waterway, while improving its dinner menu and outdoor seating.
“We have had many come about for this season, but (we’ve) still kept the feel of The Sailfish that everybody loves,” Kornegay said.
The Restaurant has added a menu to its outdoor steamer bar, and a new dinner menu. According to Kornegay, the dinner menu will include bone-in pork chops, crab cakes and local seafood. According to Kornegay, local fisherman Greg Edens helps the restaurant source its seafood.
Kornegay said the restaurant had also overhauled its water-facing deck.
“The outside deck seating has also recently been updated. Our team at Marsh Creek Marine has worked tirelessly to build new tables for our customers. The tables also add a little more seating with some two-toppers for those couples who want to sit outside and eat but don’t want to take up an entire table,” Kornegay said. “I think that our team is most excited for this new seating because it gives our deck a whole new look and feel.”
The Sailfish will also host its new “Live on the Loop!” music series, starting on Thursday, May 3. The series will host live music from local Wilmington-area bands every Thursday night from 6 to 9 p.m. Kornegay said the series features a variety of music genres, but that all the performances are family friendly.
The Sailfish does require a $1 membership, which is good for a year.
Located at 2570 Scotts Hill Loop Road, The Sailfish restaurant is located in the Marsh Creek Marina.
Starting Wednesday, March 28, The Sailfish will open Wednesday through Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 9.m. The steamer bar will be open Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
