
SHALLOTTE — William Edward “Ed” Shreve Jr., 71, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, Bolivia.
He was born Sept. 1, 1946, in Sistersville, W.Va., the son of the late William Edward Shreve Sr. and Betty Eileen Fox Shreve and was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Michael Shreve.
Mr. Shreve was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a former member of the Shallotte Lodge, 727 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies and Sudan Temple.
Surviving are his two daughters, Adrienne Cheers (Cary) and Amber Canady, (Heath), both of Shallotte; former wife and caregiver, Irene Shreve also of Shallotte; brother, Pastor Larry Shreve, and his wife, Joey, also of Shallotte; and six grandchildren, Makayla Canady, Jacob Cheers, Kara Cheer, Cooper Kirkland, Mary Catherine Cheers and Kennedy Cheers.
A celebration of his life will be held at noon, Saturday, March 24, at White Funeral and Cremation Service, Shallotte Chapel. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the service, a reception will be held at Sharky’s at Ocean Isle Beach, 61 Causeway Drive, Ocean Isle Beach.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Brunswick Recovery Center.
