NEW HANOVER COUNTY — With a forecast predicting icy conditions, regional schools are preemptively closing tomorrow.
New Hanover County announced Tuesday afternoon that all schools would be closed for both students and staff on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Brunswick County has also announced that schools would close.
Residents may expect winds as low as five above 0 to 10 above zero degrees Fahrenheit according to the National Weather Service.
NHCS will be closed for students and staff on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, due to the expected inclement weather.

At present, there are no planned closures for Thursday or Friday. According to New Hanover County School spokeswoman Kelly Baugher, NHCS will issue updates as weather information becomes available.
