WILMINGTON — Debbie was the third child of George and Barbara Furst. Debbie was born in Evanston, Illinois and raised in Glenview, Illinois. Debbie graduated from Regina Dominican High School in Wilmette, Illinois.
In 1975 Debbie married Michael Kitt Muno. Early in their marriage Debbie and Mike moved from northern Illinois to Wilmington, NC where they had two boys: Nicholas Carl Muno and Michael Kitt Muno Jr.
Debbie worked in retail most of her life. She was known as a kind and courteous employee, always making friends.
Debbie and Mike enjoyed cruises and spending time with friends at the American Legion (Post 10) in Wilmington. Debbie was an active member of Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church in Castle Hayne where she called fellow parishioners her church family.
Debbie was preceded in death by her husband Michael Kitt Muno Sr, parents George and Barbara Furst, sister Elizabeth Ann (Penny) Furst Pope, brothers in law Ted and Tom Muno, father-in-law Edward Muno and mother-in-law Margaret Muno.
Debbie is survived by her sons Michael and Nicholas, her sister Barbara M. Furst Engeldahl (Allan) and her brother George Michael (Mike) Furst Jr. (Martha). Further survived by many extended family members.
A special thanks to the staff at Liberty Commons who cared for Debbie in the last year of her life.
A memorial service to honor Debbie is scheduled for March 24 at 11:00 at Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church in Castle Hayne, NC.
