WILMINGTON — Travis Wayne Midgett of Wilmington, NC was born January 10, 1976, and passed away February 17, 2026.
He was the son of Berniece Ray Midgett and the late Wayne Nelson Midgett. The grandson of the late Tootie and Laura Mae Ray of Riegelwood, NC, the late Roland Percy Midgett of Hampstead, and the late Ethel Midgett Smith of Wilmington, NC.
He is survived by his long-time girlfriend, Mary Theresa Boyle, her son Daniel James Boyle, and his furry companion Bruce. His sister, Teresa Midgett McPherson (Blue), and his niece Blake MacKenzie Wells. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors.
In his earlier years, Travis loved fishing and restoring an old VW Bug with his dad; he enjoyed cooking and worked at several restaurants. Later he worked for Zachary Holdings, Inc. at International Paper in Riegelwood, NC where he fell in love with welding, and went on to acquire several welding degrees. Travis was a talented welder that traveled the world welding for Bradford Products. He was very mechanically inclined and took pride in being the neighborhood handyman.
