WILMINGTON — Barbara Lynn Yudiskas, born on September 25, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 77.

Her extraordinary life was a testament to her deep commitment to nursing, education, and community service.

Barbara dedicated her career to health care as a Doctor of Nursing, imparting her knowledge and compassion to countless patients and students. Her vocation also led her to teach aspiring nurses at Vanderbilt University, where she inspired many with her wisdom and dedication.

Beyond her professional achievements, Barbara was passionately involved in her community. She gave her time freely, volunteering for the local Alzheimer’s Association in Nashville, Tennessee, and contributing to local voting initiatives. As a proud member of the Frist Arts Association and the Retired Nursing Association, Barbara shared her passion for the arts and continued her lifelong commitment to the nursing field.

Barbara’s heart was as large as her love for her family and pets. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert Yudiskas; her cherished daughter, Jennifer Lacy, and son-in-law, Adam; and two wonderful grandchildren, Noah Lacy and Devon Anderson. Her furry companions, Sam, Blueberry, and Wright, brought her immense joy and comfort throughout her life.

Barbara is preceded in death by her dear parents, Joseph and Ruth Marks, and her brother, Larry Marks. She carried the values of her Jewish faith close to her heart, embodying a spirit of care and warmth to those around her. Her love for helping others, along with her devotion to nursing and family, will continue to inspire all who knew her.
