WILMINGTON — Johnny N. Blevins, a beloved father, stepfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on February 4, 1949, in Washington, D.C., he was 76 years old at the time of his passing.
While Johnny was born in Washington, D.C., he grew up in the scenic landscapes of Virginia, where he graduated from Mt. Rogers High School. Although not a member of a local church, he found spiritual nourishment through watching John Hagee on television.
Johnny dedicated many years of his life to working in the Transportation/Shipping department at Stroh Brewery Company, where he was known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail. In his leisure time, Johnny was an avid outdoorsman, passionate about fishing and hunting. His love for the great outdoors extended to his garden, where he delighted in growing vegetables each year. He was also a keen golfer and bowler, enjoying both sports with enthusiasm and skill.
Despite never pursuing it professionally, Johnny was a remarkably talented mechanic, known for his ability to fix anything due to his handiness and practical skills.
Johnny is preceded in death by his loving parents, Paul and JoAnn Blevins; his cherished wife, Vicki D. Blevins, who departed in November 2025; his brother, Rickey Blevins; and his sister, Debbie Blevins.
He is survived by his son, Kenny Blevins; his stepchildren, Ricky D. Pruitt and Angela Roland; and his step-grandsons, Jonathon Pruitt and Ricky D. Pruitt, Jr. He is also survived by his sisters, Diane (Joe) Perry and Jan Sheets; his brother, Randy (Darlene) Blevins; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
In accordance with Johnny’s wishes, private family services will be held to honor his memory. His legacy of hard work, love for nature, and devotion to his family will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
