WILMINGTON — Hilda M. Flowers, age 101, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center, Wilmington, NC.
Hilda was born on September 26, 1923, and was daughter of the late Essie Gertrude Flowers and Oscar B. Flowers, Sr. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Frances Flowers Porter, Marie L Flowers, Jessie L Flowers, and Helen Flowers Russo; two brothers: Oscar B. Flowers, Jr. and Leroy Flowers; nephew: William Ronald Russo, Sr and special family members: Mary Russo Cowand and Judy W Russo.
She leaves behind several close family members including: nephew Glenn Russo, great nephews and niece: Travis Russo (Dalisa Russo), Darren Russo (Kristen Russo), William Ronald Russo, Jr., Mary Ann Russo Moore (Brian Moore) and John F. Russo (Angie Russo); and great, great nephews and nieces: Jeffrey Russo, Dylan Russo, Nick Russo, Kendall Moore, Savannah Russo, Darla Russo and Judy Elaine Russo. Other surviving nieces and nephew include: Bobbie Jean Saunders, Dennis Flowers and Janis Moss.
She graduated from New Hanover High School and retired from Atlantic Coastline Railroad and New Hanover Regional Medical Center Accounts Department.
