WILMINGTON — Mrs. Joyce D. Guine, age 83 of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully Thursday morning, August 14th at home surrounded by family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dr.Gerald R. Guine, her parents Paul and Estelle Keen, brothers Glenn Keen and Danny Keen, sisters Laverna Thornton and Nell Rae Whitaker.
She is survived by her two children Paula Davis and Aaron Guine, brother Sherwood Keen, sister Shelbia Jean Fletcher, her beloved dog Opal and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce enjoyed traveling, gardening, bowling, square dancing, playing bridge and golf. She was a past President for the American Legion Auxiliary Post 167 and past President for Marymount Patio HOA. She was an avid supporter of local animal shelters. She had a wonderful sense of humor along with a kind and generous heart.
The family would like to acknowledge the loving support of her sister Shelbia Jean Fletcher, her niece Tammy Ayers, Lower Cape Fear Life Care, the care givers from Home Instead with a special thank you to Michelle Newby.
A celebration of life will be held from 12-5pm, Sunday, August 31, at the Marsh Oaks Clubhouse, 117 Marsh Oaks Dr., Wilmington, NC 28411.
A private internment will be held at Sea Lawn Memorial Park Hampstead, NC at a later date.
