WILMINGTON — Bobby Lee Manuel, affectionately known as Lee, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 69. Born on February 20, 1956, in Japan, Lee lived a life filled with love, dedication, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of nature.
Lee nurtured a strong faith and love for the Lord that remained with him throughout his life. He was a devoted family man, a strong and determined individual who never gave up, even in the face of adversity. Lee’s strength and fighting spirit were present though out his life but was especially evident in his lengthy battle with cancer.
Lee spent his professional career working as a plumber for Home Depot stores, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to helping others. His colleagues and customers alike admired him for his expertise and willingness to lend a helping hand.
A man of many interests, Lee found joy in the beauty of the beach and the tranquility of the mountains. He enjoyed fishing and cherished being in nature. Lee was an animal lover, especially horses, dreaming always of being a cowboy. He liked antiquing with his wife, was an avid fan of NASCAR racing and also delighted in the culinary arts, enjoying new flavors and sharing meals with family and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, James Robert Manuel, and his brother, Soo Young Shin, Lee leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen R. Manuel; his children, Ashley Biggers and her husband Andy, Tracy Bowie, Terri Martin and her husband Travis, and James “Drew” Manuel; his stepchildren, Erin Brennan and her husband Liam, Josh Murphy, and Ryan Murphy and his wife Vanessa; and his cherished grandchildren, Kain, Chloe, Wyatt, Hudson, Jack, Nathan, Lyla, and Killian. He is also survived by his dear mother, Inae Lee Manuel, and his siblings, Steve Manuel and his wife Sandy, and Jim Manuel and his wife Irene, and his many loving nieces and nephews.

Lee will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, a loyal friend, and a dedicated worker.
