WILMINGTON — Faye H. Kanapaux, born December 9, 1942, in Burlington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 82.

Faye was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion. She dedicated her career to working as a retail salesperson, where she showcased her love for engaging with people. Whether selling nail care kits at home shows or exquisite Swarovski crystal figurines at local shops, Faye’s creativity and sociable nature shone through in all her professional endeavors.

In her earlier years, Faye loved to dance, a passion that brought joy and rhythm to her life. Her artistic talents extended to decoupaging images on tiles, a testament to her creative spirit. Faye was not only creative but also deeply caring, volunteering her time at crisis and suicide prevention organizations, offering support and hope to those in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Winston and Nellie Horner, and her sisters, Bobbi Joyce and Annie Nell Michaels. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her surviving family, including her children, Tonya Lambui and her husband Bill, Demus Jordan and his wife Vickie, and Robin Renee Jordan. She is also cherished by her grandchildren, Nickolas, Terry, Jordan, Kylie, Jaiden, Adrian, Jessie, and Emory, as well as her great-grandchildren, Hayden, Sonny, Romer, Paisley, Jameson, and Luna.

A private family gathering is being planned to honor Faye’s life and legacy. Her family takes comfort in knowing that Faye is now reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.

Because of the tender care extended to Faye by the special staff at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Hospice, the family would like to request donations to their organization.

She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Faye H. Kanapaux will be dearly missed but always fondly remembered.
