WILMINGTON — Kenneth Therman Williams, 75, of Wilmington, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at August Healthcare at Wilmington.

He was born on April 2, 1950, in Wilmington, NC, to the late James Vander Williams and the late Gladys Aline (Reeves) Williams.

Kenny was lovingly nicknamed “Sarge” after the Beetle Bailey Cartoon Comic “Sargent” by his high school friend Everett Bordeaux. Anyone that knew him knew he loved him some Elvis Presley. In his younger years, Kenneth worked as a butcher and a manager for Pierce Wyche Co. in Delco and later became an insurance salesman for Life of Georgia until he retired.

Kenny is survived by his sister, Denise Latta and husband, Paul of Riegelwood; and stepdaughter, Janice Perkins (Carl) of Lake Charles, LA.

In addition to his parents, Kenny was also preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Mary “Libby’ Elizabeth (Lunsford) Williams; brothers, Tony Williams, Jerry Williams, Robert Williams, Norman Williams; his sister, Mary Wilkie; and his beloved pet dog, Elvis.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with Pastor Merrell Mckoy officiating.

A private burial will take place at Seagate Cemetery in Wilmington.
