CASTLE HAYNE — Daniel Alvarez, born on March 27, 1941, in Camaquay, Cuba, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 83.
Daniel was a dedicated and hardworking individual who spent his career in the field of security and enforcement, serving as a security guard at various locations. His commitment to his work was unwavering, and he took great pride in ensuring the safety and well-being of those around him.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Daniel served in the military in his homeland of Cuba, demonstrating his dedication and loyalty to his country.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Paula Alvarez Morales, and his father, Jose Miguel Cabrera; and his wife, Juana Elsa Alvarez. Daniel is survived by his four children: Jorge Daniel Alvarez, Ana Elsa Alvarez de Lopez, Jose Miguel Alvarez, and youngest, Carlos Saulo Alvarez. His children, among several family members, will cherish his memory and carry forward his legacy.
Daniel’s life was marked by resilience and devotion to his family and work. He loved his classical Cuban music and loved singing to whomever was next to him and had the pleasure of hearing him. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
