WILMINGTON — Bobbie Ganey Benson Jr., age 63, of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bobby Ganey Benson Jr, who departed this life peacefully on March 26, 2025, at the age of 63. Bobby was born on December 13, 1961, in Wilmington, North Carolina, to Bobby Sr and Merlyn Benson. Bobby was the epitome of hard work, dedication, and love.
As a veteran of the U.S. Navy (1981-1985), Bobby served his country with honor and integrity. After his military career, he became a skilled Machinist and a Machine Shop Superintendent for 40 years at Southeastern Machine and Welding, solving problems with precision and care. Beyond his work, Bobby enjoyed being outside, with his passion for carpentry, love for traveling and found joy in being with family. He was a dedicated father, partner and friend. Bobby is survived by his significant other, Debbie Warren; his children, Amanda, Bobby III and Jeremy; his grandchildren, Makayla, Hannah, Peyton, Gabriel, Wyatt, Paisley, Julian, Kara, and Nadia; his parents, Bobby and Merlyn Benson Sr; his siblings, Missye (Jimmy) and Dale (Becky).
Bobby’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He believed in building not just structures, but also relationships and memories that stand the test of time.
