WILMINGTON — Carla Susan Warfield Ventura Starling, lovingly known as Carla, passed away on December 19, 2024, in her hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 54. Born on November 16, 1970, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Carla brought light and joy to those around her throughout her life.
Carla spent her early years in Apex and Angier where she developed a passion for music and singing, a love that remained with her all her days. She had a beautiful voice and an unbreakable spirit, sharing her gift of song with those fortunate enough to hear her. Carla always saw the good in people, a testament to her kind heart and generous nature.
Carla was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lois (Shearin) Geuder and husband Euguene Ventura. She is survived by her cherished children, Timothy A. Edwards, Sherri C. Bridges (Kelly), Sarah E. Ventura, Brandon E. Ventura, and Jesse A. Ventura, and granddaughters Kristiana and Zoey Bridges. Her father, Ronald Warfield and Stepmother Maggie; 5 Siblings, Sherri Stecher (Joseph), Timothy Hunt (Donna), Anthony Warfield (Amy), Renata Walker (Josh) and Damien Warfield and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Services will be held in celebration of Carla’s life later, allowing family and friends to gather and honor her memory. As we remember Carla, may her beautiful voice and loving spirit echo in our hearts forever.
