WILMINGTON — Dorothy E. Griffin, 100, passed away on Monday at Azalea Health and Rehab Center, Wilmington. Born in Passaic, NJ, on June 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Drecki.
Dorothy was a faithful member of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Ormond Beach, FL. Her faith and community were very important to her. She was active in various women’s groups as a member and in leadership positions, and often volunteered for various events at the church.
A high school graduate, she worked in retail at Sears and Roebuck and Company for several years. She was also an avid golfer.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Griffin; daughter, Cheryl Griffin; and grandson, Bryan Griffin.
She is survived by her sons, William “Bill” Griffin (Dottie) and Martin “Marty” Griffin (Barbara); son-in-law, Brian Worth; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
