WILMINGTON — John Allen Hawes, age 88, of Wilmington, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024.
Public viewing 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Davis Funeral Home, 901 S 5th Ave., Wilmington, NC 28401.
A celebration of Mr. Hawes’ life will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Davis Funeral Home, 901 S 5th Ave., Wilmington, NC 28401.
Interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery.
His love and memories will remain in the hearts of his children, Lynda Wells of Philadelphia, PA, Ethel Wells of Philadelphia, PA, Gale Bennett of East Norriton, PA and Phillip Hawes (Adrienne) of Williamstown, NJ; siblings, Leagusta Osborne of Washington, DC, Dorothy Devitte of Waldorf, MD, Virginia Stevenson of Rosharson, TX, Lucy Hawes Pugh of Temple Hills, MD, Hattie Sherrod of Temple Hills, MD, Robert Hawes of Brooklyn, NY and George “Teddy” Hawes of Wilmington, NC, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
