OAK ISLAND — Mrs. Barbara Jean Parrish, 85, of Oak Island, NC, on Saturday, March 9, 2024, in the Lower Cape Fear Life Care, “Brunswick House”.
Barbara was born in Stark, Florida on November 1, 1938, and was a daughter of the late, Frederick Willis Amason and Ruth Fea Amason. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, US ARMY MSG Retired, Ezekial L. Parrish; a daughter, Barbara R. Sheek and husband John Sheek II, a son, Edward Carlton Parrish, a grandson, John Sheek, III, a brother, Tony Lee and sister-in-law, Brenda Lee.
Barbara lived a good part of her life in Fayetteville, N.C while being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had attended Northwood Temple Church for many years and a favorite hobby was being a mother and spending time in her yard gardening. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was loved by anyone that knew her.
Surviving are her loving children, Deborah Lambert and husband Gary, Bonnie Boeglin and husband Scott, James L. Parrish; grandchildren, Ronnie Parrish, Teresa Lambert, Adam Parrish, Cheyenne Boeglin, Cody Boeglin, Seth Boeglin, Will Boeglin; two great grandchildren, Haley Parrish, Zayden Parrish; and two brothers, James Lee and Carlton Lee.
Barbara will be laid to rest with her husband in a private committal service in the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Spring Lake, NC.
A memorial service will be announced in the coming days.
