OAK ISLAND — Cameron Alexander Ogilvie, age 22, of Oak Island, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024.
Son of Jeff and Dawn Ogilvie, Cameron was born on May 11, 2001 in Sarasota, Florida. In 2014, he and his family moved to Andrews, NC where he graduated from Andrews High School in 2019. Cameron was a member of his high school marching and jazz bands. He was a member of Red Oak Church.
Cameron graduated from the HVAC program at Southwestern Community College. In 2020, he moved to Oak Island and worked for Mansfield Sales and Service. Cameron was a watch and car enthusiast. He especially loved Porsche (pronounced with two syllables: “Por-shuh”— it mattered to him).
Cameron was light and joy and perseverance. In him, there was a beautifully singular pairing of tenderness and humor, soft-spokenness and cleverness, shyness and quirk. Cameron was rich in his many talents and giftings. He deeply loved music, which manifested itself in his skill on the saxophone, piano, and guitar (and really anything that made noise). He was a skillful artist. This talent was most often displayed through his cooking, photography, and drawings. He saw sublime beauty in the world and in those he befriended.
He always brought others into the splendor he found around him. Cameron had an insatiable desire for learning. He was a quick and dear friend to all. Throughout his life, wherever he was, he had a profound effect on people and was loved by many.
He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Dawn Ogilvie; his brother, Jonathan Ogilvie; two sisters, Emily and Grace Ogilvie; his paternal grandmother, Kathy Ogilvie; his maternal grandmother, Charmaine Tincher; and his uncles, Robert Ogilvie and Brandon Crane.
