Sandra “Sandy” Mammay (Peacock, Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service)

SOUTHPORT — Sandra “Sandy” Mammay, of Boiling Spring Lakes, completed her race at home on January 6, 2024.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Marion Jenerette and Harry Edmunds.

Sandy is survived by her only son, David Mammay and wife Lisa; three grandchildren, Ricky Fisher and wife Heather, Jessica Herring and husband Johnny, and Matt Fisher; seven great-grandchildren, Ricky Fisher, Curtis Fisher, Hunter Herring, Lucy Herring, Matthew Fisher, Jr., Jacob Fisher, and Kaleb Fisher; and her furry friends, Teddy and Hope.

Sandy first and foremost loved the Lord. She graduated from Mullins High School in 1959 and attended X-ray school in Greenwood, SC, and graduated in 1962. She worked in various hospitals, including Dosher Memorial Hospital, until 1993. She then went to work at Beach Care in Topsail, NC for her best friend, Ava White and retired in 2009. Sandy had two passions, church at New Creations Worship Center and bingo at the Oak Island VFW.

A celebration of her life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2024 at New Creations Worship Center. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor David Mammay and Dr. Celeste McConnell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Creations Worship Center, 3127 George II Hwy, Boiling Spring Lakes, NC 28461.
