WILMINGTON — Lewis George Kimball, Jr., born on November 15, 1963, in Cortland, New York, left this world on November 29, 2023, in Wilmington, North Carolina. At the age of 60, Lewis’s journey on earth came to a close, leaving behind a legacy that will forever warm our hearts.

Lewis lived a life filled with inspiration and passion. His unwavering love for golfing, gardening, being outdoors, and walks on the beach brought him immense joy and fulfillment. Alongside his beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Dawson, he found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life.

To Lewis, family and friends were everything. The time spent with loved ones was cherished above all else. He adored each moment shared, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those he touched. Lewis’s partner, Joseph Paletti, was a pillar of strength and support throughout his journey.

Those fortunate enough to have known Lewis will forever treasure the love and wisdom he brought into their lives. His father, Lewis George Kimball, Sr., his sister Sharon Woodford and husband Bob, his brothers David Kimball and Allen Kimball and wife Tess, his niece Savannah Kimball, and nephews Rob Woodford Jr., Matthew Woodford, and Josh Woodford will hold his memory close.

In Lewis’s heart, his mother, Helen B. Kimball, held a special place. While she preceded him in death, her love and guidance continue to inspire and shape his legacy.

A celebration of Lewis’s remarkable life will be held at a later date, allowing his loved ones to come together, share stories, and honor his memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Friends of the Arboretum New Hanover County, a cause close to Lewis’s heart.

As we say farewell to Lewis George Kimball, Jr., let us remember the light he brought into our lives. May his spirit guide us to cherish the moments we have with one another, appreciating the beauty of nature and the love that surrounds us. Lewis’s legacy will forever remind us to live life to the fullest, with passion and gratitude.
