WILMINGTON — Margaret “Margie” Ann Jones (nee Clancy) was born on April 6, 1925 to John and Margareta Clancy in Brooklyn, NY. Margie graduated from Erasmus High School in Brooklyn and went on to work as an overseas operator for ATT until she began her most coveted career as a mom. Margie passed peacefully into God’s hands on January 1, 2023 in Wilmington, NC.
Margie was predeceased by her parents and four siblings (Joan, Mary, Anne and John Gilgar) along with many loved family members on the Clancy and Jones sides of the family.
Margie is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, John J. J. Jones, and her five children, John (Kris), Peggy, Joni (Larry), Denise and Brian (Aldina). She is also survived by her seven adored grandchildren, Matthew, Scott (Erin), Brian (Ireley), Dan (Shannon), Devin, Greg (Heidi) and Bobby; and four great-grandchildren, Reese, Owen, Coop and Charlotte.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family would request a donation in Margie’s name to the charity of your choice, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
