LELAND — Mrs. Laylon Owen Mintz, 82, of Leland went home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2022. She was born in Pender County, NC on August 25, 1939 to her parents Eddie warren and Lois Pate Warren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Ernest G. Owen, Sr.; son Ernest G. Owen, Jr.; granddaughter Tonya Wescott; grandson Mark Wescott, Jr.; brothers: Linwood Warren, Buddy Warren and Billy Bradshaw.
She is survived by her husband James Edward Mintz; daughters: Rhonda Owen, Pamela Spivey (Charles, Sr.), Sheila Buchanan (bobby); grandchildren: Amanda Sinsel, Ashley Randall, Erin Thompson (Kevin), Daniel Buchanan, Matthew Buchanan (Summer); great-grandchildren: Karley, Ataly, Austin Randall, Hayl Thompson, Karagen Thompson, Dalton Buchanan, Paislee Buchanan; brother Charles Warren; sisters: Janice Jones Lanier and Carol Thigpen (Jimmy); and nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held at noon on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Goshen Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow the Funeral Service in the Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery.
