WILMINGTON — Sue N. Cooke died on February 28th in New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born on October 31, 1959, the daughter of the late Majorean and Jessie Nelms. She was a loving wife, mother, and devoted sister. For the past several years she had battled cancer and heart problems to remain here on Earth with those that loved her dearly. God has now called her home to rest in his loving arms. She takes a piece of the hearts of all that knew and loved her with her to heaven. She will not be forgotten, and we take comfort in the memory of the love she shared with us and know that we will be together again.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Jeffrey B. Cooke, Daughter Kayla M. Cooke, devoted sister Linda Nelms, brother-in-law Kent Cooke, sister-in-law Laura Sloan and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, March 5th in the Chapel at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market Street in Wilmington, NC.
