Danny was a graduate of New Hanover High School, where he was a member of the ROTC. His love of airplanes and the military led him to join the U.S. Air Force. Danny served the military for four years, and while stationed at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he met Becky. She was the great love of his life. Danny and Becky were married for almost 55 wonderful years.

After his military service ended, he and his bride returned to Wilmington.

Following retirement, Danny served faithfully at his church, Longleaf Baptist Church. He loved God’s house and God’s people. Danny tirelessly worked with his church as a sound technician and maintenance director for many decades. Additionally, he was an avid Andy Griffith Show fan and a collector of the show’s memorabilia.
