ROCKY POINT — David Dias Bettencourt, 72, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was born April 26, 1949, to Bennie Thomas and Alexandre Dias deBettencourt in Bad Cannstatt, Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Thomas and Alexandre deBettencourt; and brothers, Manuel and Paul deBettencourt.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Bettencourt; four children, Karen Hollar, and her husband, Scott, Lisa Bettencourt, Andy Bettencourt, and his wife, Shelby, and David Bettencourt; five grandchildren, Riley, Bailey and Aubrey Bettencourt and Michael and Peyton Hollar; brother, Alexandre deBettencourt; sisters-in-law, Tina Marlowe, and her husband, David, and Paula deBettencourt; three brothers-in-law, Russell and Randy Stewart and Robert Lee Whitehurst; nephews, Bryan deBettencourt and Adam and Cody Schmidt; and niece, Robin Holbrook.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 5, at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington.
