Theresa Lynn Stocks Andrews

WHITEVILLE — Theresa Lynn Stocks Andrews, 64, formerly of Ash, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021, following a brief illness.

Born Friday, Nov. 16, 1956, in Columbus County, she was a daughter of the late William Jasper Stocks and Mildred Marie Carlisle Stevens (Robert).

Lynn attended West Brunswick High School and finished her schooling in Mississippi, where she later became a Harrison County sheriff’s deputy for several years. Later, she was a commercial truck driver and then became a cosmetologist for the majority of her life. She was truly a Jack-of-all-trades. She attended Grace Bible Church, Whiteville, where she was an active member of the women’s prayer group and bible study. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, fishing and laughing. She had a smile that could light up any room. To some, she was Theresa; to most, she was Lynn; but to her closest family, she was Aunt Lynn, Nanny or simply Ma. To know her was to love her.

Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Beagle, and her husband, Eric, of Shallotte; son, Jeremy Tisdale of Wake Forest; two brothers, Billy Stocks of Ash and Charles Stevens (Frankie King) of Ocean Isle Beach; sister, Sharon Fields, and her husband, Livingston, of Ash; nieces, Teri, Tonya and Tina Stocks and Shannon Todd; nephew, Shawn Stevens, (Sarah); grandchildren, Amanda Gatwood (Gant), Sammie Williams, Tyler Beagle, Eli Tisdale and Mason Tisdale; Lynn had one great-grandson, Jacob Gatwood. In addition, she had many extended aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, including great-nephew, Ashton; and two great-nieces, Seveniti and Addison.

A time of visitation with the family will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, March 11, at the Shepherd Assembly Church, 6720 Old Shallotte Road, Ocean Isle Beach. Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at 2 p.m., Friday, March 12, in the Carlisle Family Cemetery, Ash-Little River Road, Ash. Pallbearers will be Charles Stevens, Eric Beagle, Shawn Stevens, Wesley Carlyle, Ashton Chea and Gant Gatwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests, with gratitude, that donations be made in Lynn’s name to the Columbus County Animal Shelter, 288 Legion Drive, Whiteville, NC 28472.
