WILMINGTON — Helga Martin Dougherty, 74, of Hearthside Drive, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
Helga was born Aug. 21, 1946, in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, the daughter of the late Kurt Martin and Paula Schuch Martin. She was very active in her neighborhood, where she loved her daily walks until her health would not allow. She was an avid reader.
Surviving are her son, Sean Dougherty, and his wife, Erin; and the joys of her life, grandchildren, Thomas and Caitlin Dougherty, all of Columbia, Maryland.
No services are planned at this time.
The family requests memorials be made to Cure Childhood Cancer.
