HAMPSTEAD — Ann Y. Busher, 91, affectionately known as “Gussie” by her family and grandchildren, died Sunday, June 28, 2020.
She was born April 23, 1929, to Robert Trenor and Miriam K. Young. Ann resided in Somers, New York, until her retirement. She was employed as the secretary for the mayor of the City of White Plans, New York, and then as a court clerk in the town of Somers, New York.
She was married to the love of her life, John S. Busher Jr., for 69 years, and upon retirement, moved to the Olde Point Golf Community located in Hampstead, where they resided, played golf and developed the most wonderful loving friendships for over 30 years.
Ann was known for her vibrant classy style, sas and wit. She was the best entertainer and the life of any party. She loved to dance! When the music started, she and John were the first couple on the floor, and it was no surprise when they were the last.
She is survived by her husband, John S. Busher Jr., two children, John S. Busher III (Karen) of Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia, and Megan Perkins (Jon) of Woodbridge; four grandchildren, John S. Busher IV, Bronwyn (Brynn) Busher, Benjamin “Ben” Perkins, and his wife, Kayla, Emily Perkins Greenwood, and her husband, John; and two great-grandchildren, Maxwell Ann (Ben and Kayla), and soon to arrive, Eleanor Rey (Emily and John).
Due to the current COVID-19 epidemic, a celebration of Ann’s life will be announced in the future.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Humane Society. Gussie loved animals.
