SOUTHPORT — Loretta Mae Sellers Price, 89, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, in Shallotte and went to be with her Lord and Savior. Loretta was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Winnabow to Jim Sellers and Delta Mintz Sellers.
She had worked for many years at Burns Security. Loretta was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church, and loved her church family.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Delta Sellers; husband, John Dawson Price; siblings, Virgina Sellers, Katie Riddle, Houston Sellers, Thaxton Sellers, Anita Padgett and Letha Rabon; son, Dennis Price; daughter-in-law, Kay Price; granddaughter, Cynthia Shatterly; and grandson, Randall Price.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Shatterly (Orin); two sons, Larry Price (Dena) and Michael Price; daughter-in-law, Teresa Padgett Price; brother, Elmer Price; sister, Oretha Sonderman; 14 grandchildren, Christopher Shatterly, Cheryl Shatterly, Kelly Partyka, Angie Booher, Angie Sasser, Dennis Price Jr., James Mitchell Price, Courtney Sorensen, Samantha Price, David Price, Christina Price, Jesse Price, Tommy Bounds and Rita Sullivan; 17 great-grandchildren, Dylan Partyka, Nelson Booher, Lilly Pruitt, Austin Sasser, Justin Sasser, Evelyn Sasser, Carmen Price, John Russell, Sorensen, Kade Dobson, Seth Dobson, Noah Price, Kyle Price, McKenzie Price, Justin Price, Colby Wells, Steven Sullivan and Cayden Sullivan; and three great-great-grandchildren, Kai Partyka, Avianna Sasser and Colton Jones.
The family will have visitation from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2, at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Home, Southport. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Bethel Baptist Church, Southport. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery, Bethel Road, Southport.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church, WMU, 1628 N. Howe St., Southport, NC 28461.
