WILMINGTON — Martha Dail Tingley, 100, passed gently from her earthy life Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, at Accordius Health.
She was born June 25, 1919, in Magnolia, the daughter of the late Leslie Daniel Dail Sr. and Delilah Cooper Dail. Also remembered is her husband, Egbert Tingley, who preceded Martha in death.
Martha is survived by her nieces, Susan Inman, and her husband, Keith, and Mary Nunalee, and her husband, Marshall; and stepson, Bryan Litton, and his wife, Joanie.
Martha was a very intelligent young lady. As a youth, she chose a career that few women pursued in that era. She received a master’s degree and worked for many years as a bacteriologist in a hospital.
She loved her family and was a very special, much-loved aunt. Her presence on this earth will be missed.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3, at Golden Grove Cemetery in Kenansville, where she will be laid to rest with her Dail family. The Rev. Merrell McKoy will conduct the service.
Share online condolences with the family at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home.
