SHALLOTTE — Hilda Mae Milliken, 78, of Village Point, passed away Thursday May 16, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
Hilda was born Nov. 3, 1940, in Brunswick County, the daughter of the late Beamon Brown Milligan and Pearlie Carlisle Milligan.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Emerson Milliken Sr.; two grandchildren, Joseph Milliken and Jordan Milliken; and two brothers and nine sisters.
Hilda was a member of Mount Carmel Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are a daughter, Patty Milliken, and her fiancé, Walter Zimmerli; son, John Emerson Milliken Jr., and his wife, Leigh Ann, all of Shallotte; seven grandchildren, Devan Grimes, (Eric Cartrette), Jade Milliken, Jenna Milliken, James Kohler Jr., Jonathen Kohler, Cody Kohler and Cassie Kohler; one great-grandchild, Haley Morgan Grimes; five nieces, Judy Sheppard, Kay Ferguson, Shelly Cheers, Belinda Sholar and Regina Carroll; and a host of many other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday, May 20, at Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel with the Rev. Jason L. Benton officiating. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glenn Britt, Eric Cartrette, Walter Zimmerli, Billy Ferguson, James Kohler Jr. and Blakely Hanna. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at their residence.
