JAMAICA, New York — Mrs. Bertha Reaves Lewis, 90, formerly of Shallotte, died Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at her residence.
Mrs. Bertha Reaves Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Abdul; grandson, Brione; and all of her 22 siblings.
She is survived by her son, Robert, Middletown, New York; daughters, Bertha (Andrew) and Sharon, both of Columbia, South Carolina, Darilyne (David) of Jamaica, New York, and Sabrina of Buffalo, New York; 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Beattie Reaves of Bronx, New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 9, at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, 690 Seaside Road SW, Sunset Beach. Burial will follow in Reaves Cemetery, Ocean Isle Beach. Viewing will be held one hour prior to services at the church and following services.
